Pennsylvania College of Emergency Physicians’
Scholarship for Increasing Diversity Experience of Emergency Medicine

The Pennsylvania College of Emergency Physicians (PACEP) is committed to increasing diversity in our emergency physician pipeline by supporting medical students in their pursuit of away rotations to Pennsylvania emergency medicine (EM) residency programs.

PACEP is pleased to dedicate up to two $2000 scholarships to cover educational and travel expenses for:
1) Medical students outside of Pennsylvania applying for an adult or pediatric EM away rotation at a Pennsylvania EM program
2) Pennsylvania medical students applying for a Pennsylvania EM program outside their home institution

PACEP’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion Task Force will select and award candidates. Desired qualifications include but are not limited to candidates who plan to participate in an away rotation in the state of Pennsylvania and those with strong ties to Pennsylvania who anticipate future practice of emergency medicine in Pennsylvania.

-Brief statement on why you are applying for this scholarship.
-Essay on the following topic: What drives your passion for Emergency Medicine? (250-350 word limit)
-Acceptance not needed for initial application, but please provide a list of programs that you plan to apply at

Scholarship recipients must provide:
-Letter of good standing from medical school administration
-Reimbursement contingent upon acceptance, documentation of acceptance of away rotation in Pennsylvania
-Documentation of funds spent
